Family Therapy

I have specialized training in Family therapy, and take a strengths-based approach to working with families. In our work, I will make space for the voice of each person in the family, so that we can collaboratively establish goals, and work towards nurturing the potential of each individual in the family, and the potential of the family as a whole unit.

Common issues families consult me about are:

  • Adolescents

  • Parenting and co-parenting (including differences in parental approach and philosophy)

  • Communication and conflict resolution

  • Boundary-setting

  • Coping with the impacts of divorce and separation

  • LGBTQ (identity, coming out, transitioning)

  • Relationships between parents and adult children

  • Conflict between siblings

  • Immigration adjustment

  • Grief

  • Reconciliation and estrangement

  • Substance use

I work collaboratively with parents, respecting and recognizing your strengths and expertise as a parent, and your attunement and knowledge of your own children.
